Weekender Edition

The impact of the Asian market in the fashion world is undoubtedly growing in importance and influence. Now that the fashion world finds jumpsuits, rompers, and oversized coats in vogue, (a style that has never fallen out in the South Asian culture and tradition) we'll be seeing a lot of the latter to come!

It's interesting because I have so many friends who claim to "live in dresses" and I, myself, have never related to that. I'm more of a relaxed fit pants type of gal and I get the same feel with jumpsuits. You can fancy it up or dress it down with accessories galore and the perfect pair of shoes. The jumpsuit style is not only perfect for a casual brunch outing, but also red carpet ready (thank you Elie Saab!).

My outfit yesterday was inspired by an "East Meets West" state of mind- I call it the convertible jumpsuit. We had a dinner party to go to in the evening and a laundry list of errands in the afternoon so I decided to post the two looks I wore. My jumpsuit is by one of the very first, leading Pakistani designers Maria B. It's a beautiful two piece set with a hand embroidered overcoat that has the most cleanest fall I've seen! As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to wear it over a white tee and destroyed jeans for a pop of Western luxe.

I just honestly love to see how Hollywood's biggest names pay homage to Asia with looks that flaunt rich brocades and embroidery, crystal and beadwork, architectural and minimalist cuts, and stunning prints.

P.S the antique pendant that a few of you asked about is a vintage silver metal necklace handed down to me from my dearest mother. :)
