DIY: Frayed Denim

Denim. My first and forever fashion love. Denim is a beloved staple in my closet and to me, nothing says effortless chic, more than a good ol’ pair of frayed denim.

While it's easy to buy frayed denim at any and every retail store today, there's something else about repurposing your jeans that sadly sit in the back of the closet. On this account, a DIY project ensued. Time to get down and dirty:

1. Cut or undo the stitching along the bottom hem of your preferred denim for the look (I cut 2 inches above my ankle).

2. Pull a few strands out with your fingers and/or fabric scissors to muss it up a bit.

3. The most important thing is to then throw them in the dryer for close to 30 minutes to get the desired look.

And there you have it - up-cycled DIY denim.
