Products with a Cause

Today's post is not about a collaboration. Here we are, days after the Womens March and the travel ban protest and the amount of love and outpour of inclusivity I have witnessed gives me hope that there is a brighter future ahead of us.

With that said, I wanted to shed light on two brands that I truly admire and love: Everlane and Surreal Denim. Everlane’s 100% Human Campaign is all about protecting human rights and celebrating each individual's similarities rather than their differences. At the end of the day, we are 100% human and together we have a strong voice (which is arguably something the world could really use right now). Everlane is also donating $5 (per piece) of every purchase from the collection to the ACLU!

If you’re not familiar with the brand, Everlane is known for their comfortable basics and manufacturing transparency. For every piece of clothing they make, you can literally see exactly where it was made and how much it cost.

Surreal Denim is my very dear friend's venture inspired by surrealist art that represents a deep visualization of the abstract space blending the form and feelings of the human mind. Every single denim jacket is hand painted (inspired by modern artists like Dali, Picasso, Kandinsky, Paalen and Miro) and 100% of the profits go to support Syria through White Helmets. These jackets are made with pure love with the aim to raise awareness about the crisis refugees are faced with in the motherland.

I hope you’re as inspired as I am by these innovative brands. Though fashion may be about appearances, its roots can still be more than skin deep.
